La Boite Adaptive Reuse

Commercial office conversion of a famous heritage listed theatre.  Designers worked with owners and EPA plus Council to create two large lease areas, one up in the old theatre, the other amongst the change and storage areas in the ‘basement’.  One entry reused the stage doors.  The lower office was carefully arranged to be the owner’s Brisbane office, while the theatre space became a two storey volume with mezzanine to reflect the theatre in the round.  Many challenges were resolved, including heritage, car parking, structure, town planning, accessibility & more.
