Principal Designer - Peter
Office Manager - Julie
Building Designers - Andrew, Kaylene, Annelise
We like working together as a team, respecting each other's strengths and encouraging each other to achieve the best design for you.
Peter manages overall, concentrating mainly on site consults, design, checking and liaison.
Julie, assists Peter with proposals and research and as office manager, keeps all the administration side of things in order.
Andrew + Kaylene are the 'engine' of the office dealing with detailed design and documentation, with Peter + Annelise assisting as needed.
Annelise assists Peter with consults, design and does the concepts,
Liaising with owners and consultants is mainly Peter, but everyone gets involved.
We prefer to work within our team, but occasionally bring in others if the workload exceeds our capacity.
You will most likely meet the whole team, starting with Peter at the initial consult. This is better, as we all get to know you and appreciate your needs.
Peter started Latemore Design in 1989, initially utilizing sub-contractors as designers and drafters. The business gradually enlarged during the 90's and 2000's, with employees becoming the main personnel.
Peter has over 35 years’ experience, with a design degree from UQ in 1978.
He became a QBCC licensed building designer, in the first wave of licensing in 1992. Peter’s wide range of experience gives him highly developed skills and very enhanced understanding of the whole building process.
Peter began in the Queensland government architecture office in 1976. Self-employed since 1980, as designer, documentor, detailer, project manager, contract administrator, estimator, and more.
Peter is passionate about great design, superlative documentation, and sharing with others in the industry. Peter has specialist knowledge of the classic Queenslander.
As the chief designer and principal of the practice, Peter meets all clients, attends all site consults, and oversees all projects.
Peter has been a leader in the use of CAD, (mostly AutoCad) and as a pioneer of 3D (Revit). This developed further, with a world-leading template system in Revit, called QARC4Revit.
Peter is very active in the industry as a member of BDAQ, along with National Trust, and Timber Qld. In the BDAQ (Building Designers Assoc Qld), he has many roles including being a Life Member.
Peter regularly speaks at Home Shows.

Julie started in 2006, after quite a bit of experience in admin and reception duties. She has a Certificate IV in administration studies. Julie has much needed advanced skills in managing the office, and she values working in a small collaborative environment. Her multi-tasking abilities are very appreciated!
Julie enjoys the variety of duties in the office, predominately office manager but this includes reception, keeping the many facets of finances in order, controlling project costs, being a PA to us all, and more. She loves meeting all the clients, and gets right into following the development of each project. Currently works up to 2 days per week, depending upon workload.
Julie is an intrinsic team member, and her organization abilities have and continue to transform the place.
Andrew joined Latemore Design in early 2007, to provide greater documentation capacity. His background includes a Social Sciences degree and several years in that service industry. He comes to us after deciding to shift his career to an abiding interest in building design and completing Certificate IV in Residential Design. He completed the Advanced Diploma of Building Design in 2010, and became a building designer.
Andrew designs & documents projects in Revit, which translates to converting concepts to drawings, right from sketch design to the working drawings. He gets right into how spaces interact. Andrew becomes quite involved in the whole project, and assists Peter liaising with clients, consultants and builders. He is also quite involved with developing QARC4Revit, concentrating on operations.
Andrew is near full-time, combined with parenting duties to his children.
Andrew brings considerable enthusiasm for the industry and continues to help the practice advance further.
Kaylene became our final team member (at the time) in mid-2007, as documenting needs increased further, following Andrew into the fold. Like Andrew, she had changed career, moving from IT to building design. Kaylene had a Certificate IV in Residential Design and completed the Diploma of Building Design in 2010, officially becoming a building designer. Her fascination with the built environment is a real boost to Latemore Design.
Kaylene’s role mirrors Andrew, spending most of her time in Revit, taking projects from concept through design onto working drawings. She especially likes details, which is her ‘fun’ thing! Kaylene is also involved in QARC4Revit, mainly focused on components. She is with us near full-time, while also occasionally working at other practices in architecture and project management.
Kaylene is an intrinsic team member and has made the practice even more productive.
Annelise gradually became a team member from 2012, starting joint ventures with Peter as the licenced building designer. She began with an Associate Diploma in Architectural Drafting in Melbourne in 1994. Annelise has worked in Melbourne as a Council Building Construction Officer, in London as an Architectural Documenter, and in Brisbane designing and drafting a variety of projects, including her own major renovations. She brings superb design skills to Latemore Design, along with excellent client liaison and good project management.
Annelise occasionally assists Peter in the early design portion of projects, and as a resource to Andrew & Kaylene as the project progresses to final drawings. On these projects, she is responsible for confirming the brief and resolving early design procedures with hand drawn concept sketches. Annelise brings increased depth to the practice, making us even better designers.
Annelise became a fully licenced Building Designer in her own right in mid-2019. Latemore Design continues to assist Annelise on her own projects, mainly as an experienced backup.
