This project began as an exercise in looking at a new house, if the current project home was removed. It nearly went ahead, so now remains as a concept.
The site is now assessed as flood prone, and is very large. So we elected to look at an elevated design with a pavilion layout. If fill was used to place a slabbed building high enough it would have been excessive in cost. The concept had to keep the current pool, and better orientate the building to north. By using pavilions with skillion rooves, the result is a free rambling, well lit home. The separated bed pavilion is meant for growing teenagers.
The floor plan and one cutaway axonometric are included as they explain the rambling nature of the pavilions. The full drawings can be found in the example category here.
